Broadway Dance Center is always jumping…literally. But during the summer, the studio is exploding with even more classes and intensives to help you become the best dancer you can be. In the summer, BDC’s list of regular classes goes up, from about 350 to 400 each and every week, with exceptional guest teachers who you can’t always access during the year. But as a special treat, BDC brings in these artists to reach you.
Younger dancers have several special opportunities to enhance their dancing with BDC this summer at the Summer Intensive series. Dancers ages 8-11, 12-16 and 16-21 can enroll in jam-packed, four-day intensives designed exclusively for them and their peers, and open only to intensive students. Teens and seniors will also be able to sample some of BDC’s regular classes so they can dance with all the pros who come through the studio’sdoors.
Here are a few tips to help your summer at BDC go smoothly.
#1. Sign up on the BDC website for your Club Card, and make a personal account before your first visit. That way, you are already in the system, and registering for classes will be a breeze.
#2. Arrive early for your first class of the day so that you can sign in to all of your classes, beat the crowds and ensure your spot.
#3. Check out BDC’s custom retail merchandise. Whether you forgot your socks for the day, need a new tank to take home, or you want to plan a special fitting for new tap shoes, the BDC Shop has got you covered.
#4. Are you dancing with friends or coming as a group? Contact BDC’s group services department if you’ve got a group of six or more to get a discount and ensure registration.
Keep in mind BDC’s main location is a block away from Times Square, so there is a lot you can do and see on your breaks and time off! And if you’re visiting NYC in order to dance with at BDC, stop by the hotels page on the website to see if you can get a discount and stay with a partnering hotel!
As always, check the BDC website for all the latest classes, workshops, intensives, merch and contact information. And be sure to have a great summer at BDC!
